Herbal Time Henna Hair Dye is a natural way to color your hair without damaging it — and can therefore also be used by those who are allergic or sensitive to regular hair dye. The cream contains no ammonia, PPD, PTD or hydrogen peroxide — the substances that cause most hair dye allergies — and is based on extracts of colorless henna (Cassia fistula) and natural henna (Cassia italica), supplemented with nettle extract, vitamin F, olive oil and castor oil.

This allergy-friendly nature is also what customers highlight in their reviews: multiple buyers report that they react allergically to regular hair dye but experience no complaints with Herbal Time, and some explicitly call the product suitable for people with a PPD allergy. A sensitivity test 48 hours in advance is nevertheless mandatory — even an ammonia-free cream can, in rare cases, cause a reaction.

The "no ammonia" is also the key difference from an oxidative hair dye or a powder henna: those break down the hair structure to fix the color. This cream does the opposite — with prolonged use, it strengthens and nourishes the hair, instead of damaging it.

The product is suitable for coloring independently, for maintaining the color between two oxidative colorings, or for creating highlights. There is no bleaching effect; so you will not get a lighter color than your original hair, but up to 80% grey hair coverage and a tone-on-tone result or a maximum of one shade darker.

Wash hair beforehand, leave it slightly damp, apply the cream with a comb and brush and leave it on according to the color chart: Silver Blond 30 min, Cappuccino 45 min, Copper Red 40 min, Fire Red 40 min, Aubergine 40 min, Morello 40 min, Chestnut 45 min, Chocolate 40 min, Natural Brown 45 min, Natural Black 90 min on natural blonde hair. For grey, bleached, or light/dark brown hair, the time increases to 120 minutes for Natural Black — the full chart is on the packaging. For a lot of grey roots, double the time locally. Then rinse thoroughly with warm water until it rinses clear; only for Chocolate and Natural Black is it advisable to wash once with shampoo, as these shades are the most intense.
