DeCOLOR time removes permanent hair dye from your hair, so you can return to your own color or start fresh with a different one. Useful if a color turned out darker than intended, or if you want to get rid of a dark color without waiting for it to grow out.
With permanent hair dye, small color molecules are linked together by an oxidizing agent into large molecules that get stuck between the keratin scales of your hair. That is why the color is permanent: it cannot get out. DeCOLOR time does not work through oxidation but through reduction: it breaks those large color molecules back down into small ones, so they can simply be rinsed out.
This is a fundamental difference compared to bleaching powder or lightening emulsions. Those work through oxidation and break down your own pigment in addition to the dye. DeCOLOR time leaves your natural pigment intact and is therefore not aggressive on your hair. According to the manufacturer, you can therefore perform multiple treatments in short succession if one time is not enough.
How many treatments you need depends on the color that is currently in your hair. The manufacturer recommends: blonde and bright red 1 to 2 treatments, dark red and brown 2 to 3, dark brown 3 to 4, black 4 to 6. Keep in mind that your own pigment may already be partially lightened from previous coloring, so what emerges underneath is not always exactly your old color.
The final step with the 3% developer is mandatory, not optional. If you skip this, the color will return. The processing time for the mixture is 20 minutes; leaving it on longer is pointless. After that, wash the hair multiple times with shampoo and finish with a hair mask.

Instructions for use
Mix reducer and activator 1 to 1 in a non-metallic bowl, stir for a minute, and apply immediately. Leave on for 20 minutes, rinse out, and wash multiple times with shampoo. Always finish with the 3% developer.
