hair and beard trends 2021

2020 is finally over, what a year... An extraordinary year that has inevitably affected many aspects of our lives, including our style. New habits that we have adopted during the lockdowns will be decisive for the trends of the beginning of 2021.
But to understand how we got here, we need to take a few steps back. The beginning of 2020 confirmed a whole series of trends that had gradually gained ground in 2019: comfort and freshness expressed in cuts with shorter lengths on the sides and longer on top, with more and more variations on them. With the arrival of the first restrictions, the story changed. A few tried to cut their hair themselves during the months of lockdown, but most of us preferred to wait faithfully for our hairdressers. The result was increasingly longer hair... and with it a rediscovery of hairstyles.
In a short time since the first reopenings, the need for a practical haircut, combined with the fear of a new closure of hair salons, has taken over. Practical haircuts, that will determine the image of 2021 for a while. A vast majority is characterized by much shorter cuts than we are used to seeing. The neat and defined fringe and the very high fade have won the first place on the podium, followed by the caesar cut ( a great classic) and the evergreen; the messy cut. The latter is suitable for those who do not like to indulge in millimeter cuts. Technically very simple, easy to wear but still with its own look, it is a cut that exerts a certain appeal.
In terms of styling, the key word for 2021 is a matte effect, with products that simply and practically 'lock' the styling, giving the impression that the hair has been sculpted with a chisel. Of course, without you seeing that a tool is being used for this... check out the Bullfrog matte wax .
We can be brief about beards, literally; the trend was already that they became shorter, and that continues. Beards also adapt to the practicality that we men are looking for in times of perpetual lock-downs...
